Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and Tech Nuttiez OPC Private Limited ("Spendwise", "we", "us"). By downloading or using the Spendwise app or this website, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Spendwise.

1. Spendwise is a budgeting tool, not financial advice

Spendwise helps you plan and track your own spending. It does not provide financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and nothing in the app is a recommendation to take any particular financial action. Budgets, daily allowances, categorisations and insights are estimates generated from the information you give us and from connected accounts. They can be wrong. You are responsible for your own financial decisions, and for checking anything that matters against your bank or a qualified professional.

2. Your account

You need an account to use Spendwise. You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. Keep your sign-in secure — you're responsible for activity under your account. Give us accurate information and keep it current.

3. Connected accounts

If you connect a bank account or your Gmail, you authorise us to access that data on your behalf for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy. You can disconnect at any time in the app. We rely on third parties such as Plaid and Google for these connections and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy or outages.

4. Bill splitting

Splitting a bill in Spendwise records a shared amount between you and another user. It does not move money. We are not a payment processor, a money transmitter, or a party to any debt between you and anyone you split with. Settling up is entirely between you and them.

5. Subscriptions and payment

• Spendwise Premium is offered as a monthly auto-renewing subscription and as a one-time lifetime purchase.
• All purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
• A monthly subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending.
• Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms — we cannot issue them directly. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable.
• We may change pricing for future periods. Changes never apply to a period you've already paid for.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use Spendwise to break the law, and don't:

• Access another person's account or financial data without their permission
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or attack the service or the systems it runs on
• Resell or redistribute Spendwise, or use it to build a competing product
• Upload content that is unlawful, abusive, or infringes someone else's rights

7. Your content

Your financial data stays yours. You grant us a limited licence to store and process it purely to operate the service for you. We claim no ownership over it, and it is not used to train generalised AI models.

8. Availability

We work to keep Spendwise running but don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we'll give reasonable notice and a way to export your data.

9. No warranty

Spendwise is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free or that any calculation or insight will be accurate.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost savings, or financial losses arising from decisions you made using Spendwise. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. Termination

You may stop using Spendwise and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these terms, or if required by law. Sections 7 through 12 survive termination.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law rules. The courts of India shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.

13. Apple

Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support for Spendwise. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. We'll revise the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Spendwise after a change means you accept the updated terms.
